Below is a list of teams accepted, their respective divisions, and an explanation of how the champion will be determined for that division for the GPSD Fall 2026 season.

Teams will be listed in order of preseason rank. The preseason rank is determined by looking at previous results within GPSD, weighted toward the most recent finish a team had with GPSD.

Some divisions may have an explanation on how the decisions were met for team placement. The scheduling process for the season will begin Wednesday.

OPEN - 12 TEAMS:

GPSD decided to keep the Open Division as one large division. Mainly to do our best to maintain competitive balance within the division. The division will play a 10-match regular season and the top 4 teams will qualify for the playoffs at the end of the regular season. Each team will play all other teams within in the division with the exception of not playing 1 of the teams. The following match ups will not occur during the regular season (#1 v #12, #2 v #11, #3 v #10, #4 v #9, #5 v #8, #6 v #7). This will ensure that each team will has an average opponent rank of 6.5 (based on pre-season ranking).

OVER 30 - 11 TEAMS:

GPSD decided to keep the two division model with the Over 30 Division. This was based on the competitive balance of the teams that registered and recent results the division has posted. It was determined that one large division would not create the competitive atmosphere that the teams deserve.

Division 1 - Will be made up of 6 teams (the top 5 teams from Division 1 Spring 2026 and the Division 2 champion from Spring 2026). The division will play a 10-match balanced regular season, playing each opponent in its division twice. The champion of the division will be determined by the top 2 teams at the end of the regular season playing in a championship match.

Division 2 - Will be made up of 5 teams (the 4 teams that registered from Division 2 Spring 2026 and the Division 1 team relegated from Spring 2026). The division will play a 8-match balanced regular season, playing each opponent in its division twice. The champion of the division will be determined by a playoff of ALL teams at the end of the regular season. The playoff will be seeded as such (see bracket)

OVER 40 - 19 TEAMS:

GPSD decided to keep the two division model with the Over 40 Division. The two divisions will comprise of 8 and 11 teams respectively. This model appeared to generate the greatest interest among the members and create the best competitive balance, as it was used during the Spring 2026 season.

Division 1 - Will be made up of 8 teams (7 teams from Division 1 Spring 2026 and the Division 2 champion from Spring 2026). The division will play a 10-match regular season where the top 4 ranked teams will play each other twice and then play each of the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th ranked teams once. Meanwhile the bottom 4 ranked teams will play each other twice and each of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th ranked teams once. The champion of the division will be determined by a 4-team playoff at the end of the regular season.

Division 2 - Will be made up of 11 (9 teams of which came from Spring 2026, 1 team relegated from Division 1 Spring 2026, and a new team). The division will play a 10-match balanced regular season, playing each opponent in its division once. The champion of the division will be determined by a 4-team playoff at the end of the regular season.

OVER 50 - 18 TEAMS:

GPSD decided to use a three division model that was most recently used in the Over 40 division a few seasons ago. This is due to the number of teams that registered for the age bracket. The three divisions will each have the same number of teams (6) and should create the best competitive balance among all teams.

Division 1 - Will have the top 5 teams from Division 1 Spring 2026 and the champion from Division 2 Spring 2026.

Division 2 - Will have 3 of the teams were from the bottom of previous Division 1 Spring 2026, along with 2 teams from the top of Division 2 Spring 2026, and a new team joining the Over 50 age bracket that was previously an O40 team.

Division 3 - Will have 4 of the teams from the middle/bottom of Division 2 Spring 2026, along with 2 new teams joining the Over 50 division.

Each of the three division will play their own balanced 10-match regular season where each team will play each of the other teams in the division twice. The champion of each respective division will be determined by a championship match between the top two finishers of the regular season.

OVER 58 - 5 TEAMS:

The Over 58 Division will have the same number of teams that it did during the Spring 2026 season. The division will play a 8-match balanced regular season, playing each opponent in its division twice. The champion of the division will be determined by a playoff of ALL teams at the end of the regular season. The playoff will be seeded as such (see bracket)
